Privacy Policy

LinkShare ("we", "us") does not sell your personal information. This page explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from Google in order to create and identify your account. We don't receive your Google password.
Content you provide. Links you save (with their notes, tags and preview images), comments and votes, the groups you belong to, the people you follow, and a profile picture if you choose one are stored so the app can show them to you (and to whoever you've chosen to share them with).
Safety choices. You can act on someone else's link or comment from the ⋮ menu next to it. From lightest to strongest:
- Hide a link or comment. We store which one you hid, so it stays out of your timeline and discussions on all your devices. It changes only what you see, and nobody is told.
- Report a link or comment. We store your report: who made it, what was reported, a copy of the content as you saw it, and when. It's sent to us to review against our Terms. The person you reported isn't told who reported them. Reports are kept as moderation records, even after either account is deleted.
- Block a person. We store who you blocked. You stop following each other, leave each other's groups, and can't follow each other again. You won't see their comments, and neither of you can open the other's links. They aren't told, though they may notice they no longer follow you.
Device information. If you allow notifications, your device's push notification token and an identifier for this install of the app, so we can send notifications to the right device. We don't collect location, contacts or advertising identifiers, and the app has no ads or tracking.
How we use your information
To operate the service: showing you your saved links, syncing them across your devices, and enabling the sharing, discussion, and following features you use LinkShare for. We also use basic technical data (like error logs) to keep the service reliable and secure.
How it's protected
Data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers, and stored with our cloud provider's encryption at rest.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third parties
We use Google to let you sign in, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications to Android devices, and cloud infrastructure providers to host the app and store your data securely. These providers process data on our behalf to operate LinkShare — they don't use it for their own purposes.
Data deletion
You can delete your account and data at any time, in the app under Account → Delete account, or by emailing us. See Delete your account for what is deleted and how long backups are kept.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
